1,152 Games in One Day: Monopoly Online Passes 1,000

On October 27 you started 1,152 games in a single day, our first day past 1,000. Here's who played, what you played and how fast it grew.

On Tuesday, October 27, 2026, people started 1,152 games of Monopoly Online in a single day. It's the first time we've gone past 1,000. The day before, the record was 909. A month earlier, on an ordinary Tuesday, it was 383.

We're a small team, and we watched that line climb all evening. So here's the day in numbers, and what they say about how you play.

How fast it grew

Three months ago, on July 27, the whole site saw 32 games. By late September a weekday meant 300 to 400. Through October it kept going up week after week, past 600 and then past 800, with the usual dip every weekend, until Monday hit 909 and Tuesday finally broke the ceiling with 1,152 games.

Almost all of them reached the end, too: 1,142 games finished that day.

Who was playing

1,267 different people sat down at a table on October 27. At the busiest moment, 137 of you were in the game at once. 307 players made an account that day, and another 849 jumped in as guests to try a round first.

The part we like most is this one. Half of all games, 584 of them, had no bot at the table at all, only people. Bots are there for when you want a quick game at 3 a.m. or want to practice against the computer, but most of you came to play each other.

What you played

Classic is still the favourite by a long way, with 819 games. After it:

  • Speed: 124 games
  • Custom tables: 121 games
  • Showdown: 47 games
  • Team: 41 games

Custom tables only opened in mid-October, and they're already level with Speed. If you haven't tried them, here's how custom rules work. The other modes are explained in our guide to the game modes.

A typical game took 39 minutes. That's about the length of a long lunch break, which may explain a few things.

Thank you

Since we opened in February, you've started 25,744 games. More than a thousand of them happened in one day yesterday. Every bug report, every idea in the feedback form and every message in Discord shaped the game that got there.

The next number on the chart is 2,000. Open the lobby and help us get there.
